Take a look! Try it! Say goodbye to cervical spondylosis pain

Author:

To put it simply, the cervical spine is the neck. Although it is small in size compared to the other vertebrae in the spinal column, it is highly flexible and the most frequently used part of the human spine. The cervical spine supports the head and connects to the back and abdomen. What are the consequences if there is a problem with the cervical spine?

Simply put, the cervical spine is the neck. Although it is small in size compared to the other vertebrae, it is highly flexible and the most frequently used part of the human spine. The cervical spine supports the head and connects to the back and abdomen. What are the consequences if there is a problem with the cervical spine?

Problems with the cervical spine lead to problems throughout the body.

The cervical spine is the only channel connecting the brain to the body. If there is a problem, it's not just cervical spondylosis that simple; it will affect the whole body.

Mild cases may result in neck stiffness, inability to turn the neck, and autonomic nervous system dysfunction; more severe cases can cause significant memory loss, dizziness, headaches, neurasthenia, and persistent insomnia; even more severe cases can lead to deafness, high-level paraplegia, and stroke. It is clear that severe cervical spondylosis can be life-threatening.

Check if your cervical spine is healthy

1: Take a deep breath and feel it

Take a deep breath. If you don't feel comfortable, but instead feel chest tightness, palpitations, and back pain, this is not a good sign.

2: Watch your feet while walking

Observe your feet while walking as you normally would. If one foot turns inward or outward, or both feet do so, this is not a good sign.

3: Stand straight and observe the centerline

Stand with your feet apart, shoulder-width apart. In people with a healthy cervical spine, the head and buttocks are in a straight line, both on the centerline of the feet. If you cannot maintain a straight line, it indicates that you may have a problem with your cervical spine.

4: Turn your neck

Gently turn your neck. If you feel stiffness, pain, and are unable to turn it smoothly, or if you notice a significant decrease in the range of motion compared to before, you should consider the possibility of a cervical spine problem.

What to do if you have cervical spondylosis?

Rome wasn't built in a day, and cervical spondylosis doesn't develop overnight. Relief requires long-term commitment. Here is a set of cervical spine exercises. Do them for 10 minutes every day to keep your cervical spine flexible.

1. Rubbing the neck with both palms can relax the neck

Use your left hand to repeatedly rub your neck 8 times, then use your fingers to knead the muscles at the back of your neck for 1 minute. Repeat with your right hand.

2. Gently rotate the neck

Slowly rotate your neck 360 degrees clockwise (slowly and gently), five times, then counterclockwise five times.

3. Rotate shoulders to relax neck muscles

Raise your arms to shoulder height, palms down, and rotate your shoulders to move your arms from back to front 20 times, then in the opposite direction 20 times. This effectively relieves the muscles in the shoulder and neck, thus protecting the cervical spine.

4. Look up

Gently lift your head and slowly tilt it backward to the maximum comfortable extent, then slowly return to the starting position.

The cervical spine is an important connecting point. Protecting the cervical spine means protecting the brain and torso. 10 minutes a day will bring lasting benefits.
